Santa who?

Ok...so this one really rattled my cage...

My three year old son and I was having a discussion about Christmas..of course he wanted the Ninja turtles toys...Kung Fu Panda etc...  so by then I was thinking of what extra job I was going to do to float the extra  cash to make his Christmas merry.

He then turned to me and asked if Santa was going to get him the presents?

I was like ...huh? Santa who? I said to him...no son...DADDY is gonna get you the present,,,not Santa.

I absolutely was not going to have that kid believe that Santa bought him the toys when it was I who did it...no way..

Not going to have him believe that a fat old white guy in a red suit bought him all that stuff when it was my hard earned cash.

I love Santa..grew up on the myth...absorbed the lie as a kid...and outgrew it.

But as a Dad...my kids have to know it was me...sorry Santa

I don't need your prayers

I don't need your prayers, your pity...your tears...I don't want you to pray for me, feel sorry for me or act like you care..I really don't.

So save your time with the charade...your platitudes and feigned love only irritates me.

I may be going through a dark period of my life, but I will do it the way I always do it...ALONE.

I may live in a community,,,,rub shoulders with a society and even have a family...but deep inside I am a loner. I like it that way.

I trust only me, and if I disappoint ME...then that is MY business..

I may go down to the deepest depth...but I will rise to the top again..I am a survivor.

I am my biggest fan,,,my biggest motivator,,,my harshest critic...that's why I am my best friend.

Don't need your prayers...because some people's prayers are a bad omen..bad karma...

If I have to, I will drink my bitter cup to the very dregs, and if needs be,,I will drink it again,,until my body becomes immune to the poison which life sometimes give.

I can't be silenced...I wont be denied...I will get what is rightfully mine,,,ultimate success

When Lions Roar

You can tell a captured lion from one that was born in captivity.

A lion in captivity has no idea what freedom is about...does not know the wide open ranges or the real wild life.

A captured lion on the other hand know what it feels like to be free...to hunt and to be a lion...you can see it in their eyes,,,the longing to be free.

Sometimes relationships are like that. A domesticated guy who was raised in a nice stable environment,,,never had a wild side is ok with what his life is.

But the wild ones who have been smitten or bitten by love, wakes up after the tranquilizer dart has worn off and is like.."what the....".

For all the guys who used to drink, smoke a lot, party when you wanted...kept your crib messy if you wanted...spent hours washing your car...walk around your house in your drawers if you wanted....Since you have been domesticated..isn't it true that life ain't much fun still you stopped all that?

The wild sex...manajatwas.. (menage a trois by the way is the correct spelling)...oooh the good life.

And that is why when you hear these caged lions roar...its because we miss the life.

Are you ready?

Getting ready is not the same as being ready. Most people live their entire lives getting ready...they are getting ready to start...getting ready to make an impact...getting ready to be number one.

Those are the losers actually...because getting ready means that you are not ready.

Life has no soft moments or oops I'm sorry moments....Life is about doing the things that matters when the opportunities arise.

I am all about winning, and so should you. If we all are ready, then when the time comes around to do something...then you'll just do it.

I am like an ever moving ocean current...always in a state of change but always ready to make waves...make a big splash.

If it takes longer than usual for me to achieve success...it doesn't matter...when the opportunity is there I will take it and I will be ready because I am ready.

Stress kills

I woke up this morning feeling screwed up..mad bills to pay plus a host of other stuff,,rent,,,car notes,,,you name it,  Keep wondering to myself...how did I get there? How did the stress of money woes get to me?

I was really stressed...feeling weak and lethargic.  But something beautiful happened...

That indomitable spirit within me decided to wake up....Everyone has it in them to fight back.
Stress comes as a result of the spirit succumbing to the external pressures.

With too much stress, comes an implosion. An implosion occurs when the force on the outside is greater than the substance on the inside.

What's on your insides? Mush? Jello? If you need to be on top of your game, you have to have some resilience. Cultivate the attitudes and habits of a champion.

The same sun which softens butter hardens cement. Pressures are going to come...stress is going to happen. But you have to be determined to stay on your feet....even if I get knocked down,,,I will be up before the ten count,,,because I am a warrior,,,a champion.

The system

You know what rattles my cage? The system.

What system I am referring to? The one society builds around us like a cage.

There are no real jobs around anymore in any large volumes...yet the system says that you have to take out a loan...go to school...and then pay back the system with the job that you have acquired.

Here is the problem...the system says you need experience and to start at the bottom of the pile...in the meantime, your bills stock up and you get yourself in a hole deeper than you can imagine...

So what do you do? find a way around the system to survive...you do that...then you're breaking the law...so you always feel trapped and in a survival mode....that sucks..

So here is my solution...screw the system..for the time being however, because there are some good intents in the overall structure of the system...but still..screw the system.

Here is what you do...get creative...find something that you are really good at and like...then just go for it...yea...try something...anything...because if you allow the system to keep you submerged...eventually its going to either cripple you or kill you.

Now is the time for minds to get creative,,,find a new way to do old things...find a niche...

Me...I write...and will keep on writing until I find that honey hole...the sweet spot that will put me where I want to be.

Everyday we get a chance to put our signatures on the pages of history.

One day I will sign that page..will you? sure you will

Poetry time..."Sometimes I taste the memories"

I sat in the lighted room of the future and bask in the electrified air of my destiny.

A destiny so bright and sweet tasting that I forget the darkened corridors which lead to my memories.

I try to forget, but remember that some memories are are unforgettable- even though they were

regrettable - and perhaps inevitable...

But even though I try to scourge my mind, purge the corridors of the tantalizing aroma of those

memories....they come wafting through the air, pulling me into the brewery of my mind which stores

and ages those intoxicating memories... stored in vats and kegs which have no labels...just the aroma.

Sometimes I take a mugful to my lighted room and sip the contents -

Yes, sometimes I taste the memories....and I feel it rushing through my veins - in my blood - to my

brain, causing me to act insane, say words of vain, which causes pain.

 So if my room is to have its splendor - I must seal those corridors and chart a new path - so sweet

and tantalizing to my new brewery, where I can sit and laugh with my true love, my darling, my

wife...and she will understand when I walk down that new corridor we both built - why I go inside to

taste the memories

I have lived a good life...

Don't cry for me if I do not live to see tomorrow...don't grieve for me...please ..no sorrow...If you are no longer hearing from me, it means that I have made it to the other side...until we meet again..Jah bless and Jah guide...

Because I have lived a good life...I have lived a pure life...everything is so blessed...everything is ok with my life...

You see...as a soldier on the battle field..I have kept it real...Lots of stuff I have done in the struggle to make that dollar and to make sure that the family always has a meal...however...I have never robbed an innocent man...never took an innocent life...even though sometimes what I have done has been labeled a crime...that's how it sometimes..but I have lived a good life...

As a soldier from the streets, you have to keep things strong....deal with everyone honorable...never hype on no one...don't ever be caught up in no hot mess...just keep it real all the time...still keep resisting the  system ....still give thanks to the Almighty One and just keep living a good life....

Ready to Die

Nope...it aint what y'all thinking...this is not suicidal thoughts or anything like that.

A wise man once said that life is not worth anything until you find something to die for...well I did.

I am ready to die in order to succeed. I am going to make it to the top of the food chain or die trying. I rather burn out than rust out.

Some say strike the anvil while it is hot...I say strike the anvil until it becomes hot. Life is not going to sit back and let you win...no way...true fighters know that every day is another hustle, another battle, another struggle.

Don't just think outside the box...out think those who are thinking outside the box.

Life is coming at you with all it has...if you blink...then it will catch you napping...it is a constant change...like the ocean...someday you have to ride the waves,,,someday you gotta scuba dive...some days you are the bug...some days the windscreen....some days you are the pigeon...some days the statue...but whatever is out there...face it,,,find something about life that is worth living for...that you would kill for..and if needed...die for..

Hope,,,don't lose it

Do you ever feel like all your doing is not worth the while? Feels like you are stuck in this never ending cycle of despair and hopelessness...nothing seems to be going right...even the tough times seems extra hard...bills piling up...no love at home...relationship problems...and the numbers just keep piling up...

I've been there so many times, when the darkness and the gloom seems to be your only friend...solitude and loneliness your most desired companions...

But somewhere through all the mist of gloom comes hope...yes hope...

The one element of human's existence which changes everything. No matter how hard things become, hope says to hold on a little longer because there is a better day ahead...whether or not it is really ahead, hope gives you the drive to take that one more step...to dig your heels in a little deeper and fight the battle once more...

Hope says, don't be afraid because whatever it is that is trying to keep you back, will have to loosen its grip someday...Hope says no matter how dark the night is..morning will soon be there...Hope says no grave can hold your body down....

Hope, that spark of light...that last glowing ember that will be the ignition of the inferno of prosperity that will blaze soon...Hope...the one thing which keeps the human spirit alive...

No matter what...don't  let them take away your HOPE!

Get outta my way!

You know what rattles my cage? Dumb ass people who just act like sleeping police on my path to success.

These wasters just do not get it, that their wasted lives are not the models that I am building my dreams on...so just because you screwed up your life while going for the gold, does not mean that will be my fate. They are the nay Sayers,,,The ones who have a 150 ways to tell you why it wont work...The ones who will do whatever it takes to discourage you from moving forward.

Well here is the thing...I was not placed on the earth to please anyone...I am here because I am a success...I know what I want in life and I'm a gonna get it.

Even if it means that I have to crush some of these dream killers...because let's face it...you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

Like Luther..I've got a dream...but unlike Luther..I wont be killed by my dreams,,,I will be on the battle field for as long as it takes,,,so if you are somehow in my path,,,the best advice I have to give is ...Get outta my way!

Live life to the Hilt

You know what rattles my cage? Folks who crawl through life on their bellies..they act as if they have no drive...no energy..no mojo..

Listen...life is already a hard road to travel...if you want to make it harder..fine..just don't expect me to do the same...I am not just going to live, but I am going to excel...I want it all...everything.

I am never going to stop until I do...one may ask what is "everything". Well the simple answer is anything...anything I want...anything I desire...anything I think should be mine. I am going to live life to the hilt.

Am I wrong to want what I think I was placed on this earth for? To hell with anyone's opinion...it's not a matter of right and wrong..its a matter of me living my life the way I feel.

Life is not a popularity contest..so if this makes me unpopular..tough..as long as I am enjoying it is all that matters...if that falls into the perceived ambit of good and bad or right or wrong...then so be it..

I am Immortal

You know what rattles my cage? weak ass people...they are always the one complaining behind the scenes but will never step up to defend their rights.

They always want a champion to rally behind...always need a leader to lead the charge...always want to shout encouragement and advice from the sidelines...

I am so through with all those fakes...

What we want are real heroes...heroes who will stand even if it means that they are the only ones standing,,,people who will walk the lonesome trail, because it may be the only path to success.

Even when the way is dark and the night is long, they will fight to the bitter end,,,heroes who will not be defeated by someone else's words or opinions...

Heroes who are immune to criticisms...and laugh danger in the face,

There is no future for weak people....you have to decide what your'e going to be..hero or whimp...
Champion or weakling...

Me? I choose to be Legendary...a phenomenon ...a giant amongst men...

This is your time!..

You know what rattles my cage? People who choose not to be successful...the operative word here is choose...they actually make a choice not to be great.

I just don't get it. Why would you not want to be better than what you are now? why not be great? why not be the best?

I don't know how long it will take me to be the best...however, as long as I have all my faculties in place, I will be trying...you see, success is not about acquiring the top spot but its about what you did to and how you acquired that spot.

Never give up on an opportunity, if you have real talents or skills, believe me, one day the door is going to open for you to take advantage of the opportunity...but here is the catch...you have to be prepared to work harder than anyone else,,,you have to keep your eye on the ball at all times...

If you stay ready...then you don't have to get ready...so always be ready to seize the moment.

Greatness lies within you...this was the moment you were born for...this was the generation you were meant to be in...This is your time.

What you going to do? Sit back and let your talents and skills go to waste? no way...dig yourself out of the pit of negativity...crawl out of the cauldron of disappointment....face life head on with your chin up...look challenges square in the face...Do not be afraid...

All I do is win,,,no matter what

You know what rattles my cage? People who are not in my league trying to compete with me...its embarrassing...its like a single raindrop challenging the Niagra Falls...a book-stand competing with a library.

Some folks are so envious and jealous that they can't bear to see you ahead of them in anything. They sneak around like slippery slime trying ti undermine your efforts and then smile at you as if all's well.

The bad news for them is that I am a serious competitor...I am the type of guy who would whip a racehorse to death just to win. I can't settle for second place and I sure don't think anyone is better than me...only more experienced...

I know I am "that good" so I don't have to worry about being bested by anyone. If they are ahead of me, it is only because I slowed down..

I am a winner...I was designed that way..I am a champion...I don't fly with pigeons..I soar with the Eagles...I am not a conversation... I am a press conference...I am not a featured film..I'm the whole industry...I am meant to win.

Start believing in yourself...get your head out of the sand and build pyramids....stop wallowing in the mud, You are stronger than you think...rethink possible and go rule your universe.

I'm still the Champ

You know what rattles my cage? Weak assed people who have no spine or courage to fight life.

I wish that they could get it into their thick skulls that if you want to keep winning in life you have to be prepared to fight to the bitter end.

Life is not about how easy it gets but more about how much stronger you have become. I have been knocked to the canvas a few times...sometimes I have to just take the punches and hope for the bell to ring...but I am still there. I am not going to throw in the towel or stay down until the ten count...no way...I live for this, because I am a fighter...I fear no one...Be it demons or men or whatever it be,,,I fear no one.

That is a cultivated attitude...doesn't come overnight...so in between rounds I keep my self battle ready, because.."The more I sweat in training is the less I will bleed in battle"

So everyday I rise to the challenge, because everyday when the final bell rings...I should hear the announcer saying "....and the winner and still the undefeated champion is....Steve Brown!

Live the life you love

You know what rattles my cage? The people who have their heads so far up their asses that they will never accept that not everyone is going to to live life based on their perception of life.

I agree that some acts that some people carry out under the caption "my life"...have negative impacts on the society on a whole...but that is not what this blog is about.

I am about what I want to do when I want to do as long as it conforms to some level of inner morals.

So what if I do things different from you? Does that make me bad because I choose to be different?
What if my music differs from you? or I have friends and associates which doesn't fit into your picture of acceptability? Have I now become the demon you seek to crucify?

Me? I am going to live my life the way I feel...living through other peoples eyes is the same as living in a prison...as of now I am going to do me...

I rather try things my way and fail a thousand times than try to succeed based on a next person's concept of what I should be.

I rather try for a lifetime to give my dreams wings, than spend the rest of my life building someone else's dream.

I am going to live the life I love and love the life I live...

New Novel

I have just recently published my latest novel on Amazon.com...its titled Legions Unleashed.

Its about all that regular wonderful stuff which somehow seems to intrigue our minds...demons, angels, the dark side etc...If that was all the book was about though then it would be just a regular run of the mill type of book.

However, what sets it apart and has gotten it so much attention is that I have attempted to do something either not done generally or poorly done...and that is to allow the most notorious Antagonist to become the Protagonist...the events and stories that are familiar are seen through the eyes of Lucifer and his angels...I have given them some awesome names too...

I get up in their heads giving you a tour of the most diabolic minds ever...not the horned, three prong fork, red suit with tail guy...this is for real.

The whole plot of the story is his plans to govern the universe using human and Earth as his HQ...defying God and using humans as his pawns...

His greatest act of deception is using the religious powers to unite the entire religious and non religious world and to create his biggest illusion...duplicating Jesus' return to Earth.

Each twist and turn of this epic saga will bring you deeper into the mind of the arch fiend

The greatest thing about being a human is the ability to dream, to aspire, to want more.

Self belief is the current of wind which your dreams ride on....listen..if you don't believe in you, then don't expect anybody else to believe in you also.

Everyday that I look in the mirror, I say to myself...You can...You can deal with challenges today has to give,,,You can deal with the negatives...You can deal with that idiot who is going to say or do something to screw up your day...You can take a step back from the mad rush and breathe easy before getting back on the grind.

The You can concept is powerful, because it means that a possibility exists to get something done...
It is a choice and choices are powerful.

Never be scared to choose to be successful....ever noticed that the people who tell you that You Can,t are the ones who themselves,,DID NOT? Yep...dream killers..

But let no one or nothing stand in your way...You want to be great? You can...You want to feel good about yourself? You can.

Just be all you can be for as long as you can be and never stop trying or believing in you....

Voices

Some days I wake up and I swear I have a demon in my head....its kinda hard to express, but I feel a dark side of me which is inexplicable. I know I am not crazy and I wont day crazy serial killer stuff...but these voices keep talking to me.

Everyone is entitled to feel a little crazy sometimes. but my type of crazy is a weird type...I act and say normal things but it feels like another version of events is happening in a parallel world and somehow I am able to relate to both.

But I love my voices,,,they argue with me,,,help me whenever I am making a presentation and helps me with my writing skills...so for the better part,,,they and I get along just fine.

Do you hear voices sometimes? I know you do.
